About ToonCritters

Carolyn Presley is a professional illustrator, muralist and graphic designer with 30 years experience. Raised in San Francisco she embraced the melting pot of cultures there, which provides inspiration for the community of Toon Critters. Carolyn was also an accomplished classical musician until moving to Los Angeles to pursue her dream of becoming an illustrator.

Carolyn combines her passion of art and music by collaborating with her composer/producer husband, Steffen Presley, creating mixed media and digital designs. Toon Critter’s main characters, Zeke & Zack, were originally created for a client’s album cover, which organically evolved into a family of critters on a mission caring for each other and their little park.

Jessica Rose Castillo is a writer based in Los Angeles area. “Toon Critters” is her first picture book series. She is a talented writer who breathes life into her characters. Jessica’s light hearted approach and visual writing sets-up the artwork - which makes a fun collaboration!

Jessica is also an advocate for foster children and published author of “Trash Bag Full of Memories”/ KDP-Amazon Publishing to help educate and support care givers. In addition, Jessica is the proprietor of “Rosebud’s Body Art & Boutique” which supports local artists. Jessica also promotes their skills through community events she plans and manages.
